Restrict name and email changes
Note: This feature can only be controlled by organization administrators.
- Go to the Organization permissions tab of the Manage organization page.
Prevent users from changing their email address
By default, any user can change their own email address by going through an email confirmation process that confirms they own both the account and new email address.
For organizations that are using LDAP or another a Single Sign-On solution where a user's account is managed elsewhere, you can enable a setting that prevents them from changing their own email address via the Zulip UI.

Select the Prevent users from changing their email address checkbox under the User identity section.

Click on the Save changes button to save any changes you made to your organization settings.
Prevent users from changing their name
By default, any user can change their name by going through the steps given here, but administrators can enable a setting that prevents them from changing their own names via the Zulip UI.
