Configure desktop notifications

You can configure your settings to receive desktop notifications for messages sent while Zulip is offscreen.

  1. Go to the Notifications tab of the Settings page.

    • If you want desktop notifications for each new message from a stream, check the Visual desktop notifications option and/or Audible desktop notifications under Stream messages.

    • If you want desktop notifications only for private messages and @-mentions, check the Visual desktop notifications option and/or Audible desktop notifications option under Private messages and @-mentions.

  2. Click on the Save changes button to save any changes you made to your notification settings.

You can change your notification settings for individual streams on your Streams page.
